Meet Amanda Fogel,
New York Therapist for Relationships, OCD, and Career Related Stress
I’m a Mental Health Counselor based in New York specializing in helping young adults and professionals navigate anxiety, relationship patterns, OCD, career related stress, and life transitions with more clarity and confidence.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply human. I pull from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ERP, EFT, and narrative work to help you understand why you feel the way you do, interrupt the cycles that keep you stuck, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others.
My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can be honest, explore your patterns with compassion, and feel connected and empowered as you figure out your own path.
I see therapy as a space for anyone who wants to explore, grow, or simply make sense of life on their own terms. It’s not only for times of crisis or when things feel “broken,” it can also be a place to gain clarity, uncover patterns, and discover new ways of showing up for yourself and others.
Who I Work With
I work with clients who are navigating:
Relationships (romantic, family, and mother-daughter dynamics)
OCD
Life Transitions (college/post college, career changes, and major
life milestones like engagements and weddings)Career Related Stress
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling:
Constantly anxious in relationships
Stuck in cycles of overthinking or second guessing themselves
Unsure how to communicate their needs or feel secure
My Approach to Therapy
My style is warm, relatable, supportive, and direct.
I want you to feel seen and understood, but I’ll also challenge you, gently and collaboratively, when it’s helpful.
I integrate:
Psychodynamic therapy to explore the root of your patterns
CBT & ERP to work through anxiety, panic, and intrusive thoughts
EFT to help you understand emotions beneath your reactions
Narrative therapy to rewrite stories that no longer serve you
Our work will help you:
Reduce anxiety and panic symptoms
Become more comfortable with uncertainty
Break cycles of overthinking, people pleasing, and self doubt
Improve communication and express your needs clearly
Build confidence and self trust
Navigate transitions (work, dating, friendships, family changes) with more ease
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.”
My Path to Becoming a Therapist
I’ve always been drawn to people; their stories, inner worlds, and the small details that make each of us unique. Growing up, I realized I felt most alive in deep, meaningful conversations, connecting and being fully present with others.
Navigating my own mental health challenges showed me the transformative power of therapy. It helped me understand myself, name feelings I hadn’t been able to, and realize I wasn’t “too much.” Those experiences inspired me to become a therapist. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, overwhelmed by your mind, or unsure how to speak your needs and how healing it can be to sit with someone who truly gets it.
After earning my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling, I now help clients navigate anxiety, relational challenges, life transitions, and identity shifts with more self understanding and confidence. Having been through similar life stages; dating, career changes, and the uncertainties of your 20s and early 30s, I bring real, lived relatability into every session.
